Marc Chopin has accepted a three-year appointment as dean of The W.A. Franke College of Business.
Chopin’s appointment effectively ends the search for a permanent dean for the college. A search may be renewed after his three-year term ends in 2010, ProvostLiz Grobsmith said.
“Marc has done a wonderful job in his role as interim dean, and we are very pleased that he has agreed to step up and serve as dean,” Grobsmith said.
Interim dean since July, Chopin has served NAU as associate dean and associate professor of economics since 2006. He came to NAU after 14 years at Louisiana Tech University, where he held a variety of positions.
“The administrative and educational team at NAU produces exceptional opportunities for our students, faculty and staff, and I am looking forward to my expanded role as a member of that team,” Chopin said.
President John Haeger also announced that he is ending the search for a permanent executive director of the School Hotel and Restaurant Management. HRM professor Rich Howey will remain as interim executive director.
