‘Inside NAU’ to hit the airwaves

The Office of Public Affairs and NAU’s Television Services are collaborating on a biweekly television version of Inside NAU. The show will take stories from the online version of Inside NAU and translate them to a television news format.

“We saw this as another outlet for communicating with the campus and community about news and happenings at NAU,” said Lisa Nelson, director of NAU Public Affairs.

The first episode of Inside NAU the TV Show is set to debut Sept. 21 and will air numerous times on Channels 4, 59 and UniversityHouse, found on channel 9411 of the Dish Network, a nationally distributed satellite service.

Longtime television producer Victor Dailey, who recently moved to Flagstaff from southern Oregon to work for TV Services, will oversee the show’s production along with other programming for the university. Dailey is working with Theresa Bierer, who worked in TV news in the Northwest and the upper Midwest and whose reporting has been heard on KNAU for 11 years.

“Using video to tell part of the NAU story is an opportunity for the entire university community,” Bierer said. “Television is a powerful medium that can work toward recruitment and retention, and also share NAU’s highlights with a new group of viewers.”
