We all care about the environment and want the best for our planet. We could also all use an extra $1,000. Luckily, there is a way to have both! NAU’s Boundaryless Center of Innovation and Entrepreneurship is partnering with the City of Flagstaff and Moonshot at NACET to give you a chance to show your creativity and innovative abilities with a chance to win a cash prize!
Flagstaff has committed to being carbon neutral by the year 2030. This is a significant feat with a looming deadline and they need your help to develop innovative systems and business ideas that reduce the net carbon emissions of the city. These ideas can approach the same goal in myriad ways, such as decreased dependence on cars, clean electricity, reduced building energy consumption or carbon dioxide removal from the atmosphere. This student competition is open to all undergraduate and graduate students enrolled at NAU, either working alone or in a team. You can learn more and sign up at the challenge event page.
Interested in entering, but not sure where to start? Boundaryless will provide coaching throughout the event to help you tackle the challenge. To find out more and have your questions answered, attend the Kickoff Information Session at 2:30 p.m. Feb. 11 in the Boundaryless in the University Union. Boundaryless will provide coaching and check-ins throughout the planning stages, and during the week of April 11, will help you practice and hone your pitches. On April 15, you will pitch your solution to a panel of judges from the community and one team will win $1,000.
