Dear Lumberjacks,
As 2023 draws to a close, it is important to take time to connect, reflect and focus on the things that are important to us. Prioritizing personal connections is especially important during this time of the year, so please take time during these next few weeks to spend time with family and friends.
It has been quite a year both nationally and internationally. The end of 2023 offers an opportunity to reflect on the many experiences both good and bad that have taken place over the last 12 months. Through it all, the NAU community has continued to collaborate to engage in civic discourse, broaden social impact and economic mobility and provide support and care for members of the NAU community who are working to enhance and foster a more inclusive, equitable campus environment.
Going into 2024, the Center for Inclusive Excellence and Access will continue to work on the NAU Inclusive Excellence Action Plan. This action plan will help enhance work in the Elevating Excellence 2025 strategic roadmap and will include priorities and actions for our HSI initiatives as well. This includes highlighting NAU’s commitment to inclusive excellence across the institution. We must continue to make NAU a place where everyone feels welcomed and finds a sense of belonging.
If you are planning on celebrating Hanukkah, Christmas, Kwanzaa, Solstice or New Year’s Day, we wish you a festive and joyous holiday season and a healthy and happy start to 2024.
Let’s return in 2024 recharged, engaged and committed to enhancing inclusive excellence at NAU. We are better when we work together.
