- Carol Chambers, professor of wildlife ecology in the School of Forestry, has been elected to a second three-year term on the Wildlife Society’s Council. The organization is the primary professional organization of wildlife biologists and wildlife managers in North America, and is governed by a council comprised of four officers and eight section representatives. Chambers is representing the Southwest Section, a region comprised of members from Arizona, New Mexico, western Texas and Mexico.
- Katy Harding, undergraduate English major, recently was named a 2012 GE-Reagan Foundation Scholar. She is one of 15 students selected from 10,000 candidates, and she will receive up to $40,000 in scholarship support. Harding volunteered for numerous organizations and founded a peer-led tutoring program at her school in Litchfield Park, Ariz.
- Diego Estrada, undergraduate student athlete majoring in Spanish for secondary education, is featured in the NAU-TV commercial below. He discusses his upcoming Olympic appearance for Mexico and his experience at NAU.
