  • Amy Horn, instructor in photography, wrote “Digital Gold,” published in the January/February 2011 issue of Gold Prospectors. The magazine also published one dozen of her photographs along with the article, including one featured on the front cover of the publication.
  • Jon Reyhner, professor of educational specialties, published “Indigenous Language Immersion Schools for Strong Indigenous Identities” in the fall 2010 issue of UCLA’s Heritage Language Journal. Reyhner and fellow professors of educational specialties, Willard Sakiestewa Gilbert and Louise Lockard, have edited a new book, Honoring Our Heritage: Culturally Appropriate Approaches to Teaching Indigenous Students.
  • Jeff Berglund, associate professor of English, edited with Jan Roush from Utah State University a volume of critical essays devoted to Native American author and filmmaker Sherman Alexie. Berglund and Roush assembled 12 leading scholars to provide an interdisciplinary approach to Alexie’s work. Sherman Alexie: A Collection of Critical Essays spans Alexie’s entire career.
  • Chris Scherpereel and Kathryn Savage, professors for The W.A. Franke College of Business, accompanied 20 students from the college to Omaha, Neb., on Nov. 19 to meet with legendary investor and philanthropist Warren Buffett.
