  • The American Physiological Society recently named Stan Lindstedt, Regents’ professor of biological sciences, as an honoree at its upcoming annual meeting in recognition of his contributions to the field. Lindstedt will be presented with the August Krogh Distinguished Lectureship in Boston in April. The lectureship is awarded to scientific areas of comparative and evolutionary physiology.
  • Kees Jan van Groenigen, a visiting international scholar who has dual appointments with the Merriam-Powell Center for Environmental Research and the Department of Biological Sciences, is a co-author of “Greenhouse-gas emissions from soils increased by earthworms,” published online by Nature Climate Change.
  • Theresa Alarid, librarian at Cline, recently co-authored “Managing the Access Services Desk: Utilizing Layered Levels of Staff Skills,” published in the Journal of Access Services. Alarid wrote the article with Bethany Sewell of the College of New Jersey. The article is available here.
  • William E. Wilson, senior support systems analyst for Information Technology Services and part-time instructor, has self-published the book After the Collapse, a story of a woman who is searching for her lost brother after a complete global collapse. The print edition also includes Arizona black and white photography by the author and his son Rhys. The book is available on Kindle, Nook, iBooks and in print on Amazon.com.
