  • Jacqueline Vaughn, professor of politics and international affairs, recently published Waste Management: A Reference Handbook with ABC-CLIO Publishers.
  • Stephen Nuño, assistant professor of politcs and international affairs, presented a coauthored paper titled “Perceived Neighborhood Quality, Individual SES, Civic Participation and Health, Mental Health and Drug Abuse/Alcohol Services: A Preliminary Analysis of Adults in the City of Los Angeles, CA,” at the American Public Health Association in Philadelphia this month.
  • Nathan Heller, lecturer of politics and international affairs, was appointed as a reviewer for theJournal of International Business and Entrepreneurship Development by InderScience Publishers.
  • Dennis Tanner and William Culbertson, professors of health sciences, along with Stephanie Christensen, lecturer of health sciences, presented a seminar titled “Five Case Studies in Dysphagia Malpractice Litigation,” at the annual Convention of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association in Chicago last month. Dysphagia is a swallowing disorder, and all five cases involved the deaths of the patients.
