Marilyn Woelk Seumptewa, a benefits manager in Human Resources, died Tuesday, June 24, 2008. She was 56.
Mrs. Seumptewa began her NAU human resources’ career in 1989, retired in 2003, and was rehired in 2007.
Services for Mrs. Seumptewa are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday, June 27, at the Flagstaff Christian Fellowship Church at 123 S. Beaver St.
“Many of us will remember Marilyn’s great sense of humor, her strong faith and the fact that she was not only committed to her work but really committed to having fun at work,” said Marcia Warden, a human resources training coordinator.
Born Sept. 8, 1951, in Colfax, Wash., Mrs. Seumptewa lived in Arizona for 28 years and served on the Women’s Missionary Fellowship at Flagstaff Christian Fellowship Church. She taught Sunday school for 18 years and her passion to support world missions led her financially to support missionaries and to travel to assist with mission camps in Ukraine.
Mrs. Seumptewa enjoyed gardening, quilting and baking for others.
She is by survived by her children Skye and Ryan; daughter-in-law Elizabeth; mother Dorothy; siblings Ruth, Anne, Mary Lou, Leona, Peter, Michael, Milton and Don. She was preceded in death by her husband, Owen, and father, Meno Woelk.
