Grad students take on high-speed research deconstruction

A contest for graduate students will have dozens of presenters whittling down months’ and years’ worth of their research into the time it takes most people to brush their teeth.

Learn about the kinds of graduate research happening across Northern Arizona University during its first 3-Minute Research Presentation competition and reception from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 16, in Ashurst Hall.

The project is designed to increase graduate students’ communication skills and their capacity to effectively present their research or creative work to a general audience in a three-minute timeframe. It is modeled after the 3-Minute Thesis presentations developed by the University of Queensland.

In addition to cash prizes for the top three outstanding presentations, all attendees will be invited to vote for their favorite presenter for the Peoples Choice Award.

RSVPs are requested by April 9 to Kirsten.Slaughter@nau.edu or by calling (928) 523-4338.
