Summer marks peak visitation to Flagstaff and northern Arizona and, for those fortunate to call this region home, it is an exceptional time of year for an outdoor staycation.
To enhance access to Northern Arizona University’s beautiful mountain campus for members of the Flagstaff community and out-of-town visitors, NAU will offer free community parking on weekends throughout the summer in three large campus parking lots.
By providing free weekend parking, NAU seeks to expand access to its campus, allowing visitors to enjoy the walking, running and biking routes that connect the campus with the City of Flagstaff’s extensive urban trail system, public swimming at the Wall Aquatic Center, the Kitt School of Music concert series, the NAU observatory, and other community-focused events and programs scheduled on campus this summer.
Weekend community parking lots also provide easy walking access to downtown Flagstaff and other local amenities.
The lots available for free weekend parking can be found via the NAU parking map and are located at strategic points to enhance the connection between the NAU campus and the community:
- Skydome (P66)
- Kitt Recital Hall and Cline Library (P13)
- Lumberjack Stadium (P7A)
Free weekend parking in these lots will run through Aug. 13.
