The search for a permanent dean of The W.A. Franke College of Business has ended without a hire, and a new interim dean has been appointed.
Mason Gerety, vice president for Advancement and former dean of the college, has been appointed interim dean effective July 1, Provost Liz Grobsmith announced this week.
Grobsmith said she will re-launch a nationwide search for a permanent dean in the near future. She hopes to have a new dean in place as soon as possible.
Grobsmith also expressed her deep appreciation for the job done by the search committee.
Marc Chopin, who had accepted a three-year appointment as dean in 2008, will return to the faculty. “Marc has done a wonderful job in his role, and we appreciate all of his hard work and efforts to maintain the college’s quality,” Grobsmith said.
