The candidates for chief of the NAU Police Department will meet with the campus community in a series of open forums.
The search for a new chief has been extended, and the four new candidates have been invited to meet with faculty, staff, students and the public.
The first forum was this afternoon with Charles F. Martens, a 30-year police veteran currently a lieutenant with the Flagstaff Police Department.
The second open session is scheduled for 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, in the University Union Oak Creek room. Gregory T. Fowler, an assistant police chief with the city of Mesa Police Department, will participate.
Paul K. McGuinnes, police chief of SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry, will be available from 3 to 4 p.m. Feb. 7 in the University Union Havasupai room C.
Roy E. Melnick, police chief of the town of Ashland, Mass., will meet from 3 to 4 p.m. Feb. 8 in the Babbitt Administrative Center, room 206.
