The First Scholars program at Northern Arizona University is seeking faculty and staff who are interested in mentoring students for the 2017-18 academic year, beginning in the fall. These mentors will assist scholars as they make successful academic and social transitions into college at NAU and beyond.
First Scholars, funded by the Suder Foundation, is housed in its own residential learning community. First-generation scholars are provided with a holistic four-year experience, academic support, workshops that address the concerns and needs of first-generation students, a Living Learning Community experience and a supportive network of mentors, including peers, staff and faculty.
