- Ben Dymond—an associate professor for the Department of Civil Engineering, Construction Management, and Environmental Engineering—joined students Payton Correia, Isabella Velasco, Caitlin Yazzie and Zachary Fukumoto to earn a first-place victory in the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute’s 2025 Big Beam Competition. The nationwide challenge has teams of students and their faculty adviser design, construct and test the stability of a 20-foot concrete beam, being judged on their teamwork and innovation throughout.
