Northern Arizona University employees have the opportunity to increase their knowledge in a variety of skills with two trainings being offered, both the Survey Design Using Qualtrics (DGT04) and Student Data Deep Dive Training (DGT03).
Survey Design Using Qualtrics (DGT04)
This session will provide knowledge towards the best practices for survey research with a primary focus on the use of the Qualtrics, the online survey software for which NAU has purchased a campus-wide license.
Attendees can expect to leave with an understanding of:
- Benefits and drawbacks of survey research
- Guidelines for effective survey design, i.e., question wording and ordering
- Strategies to increase survey response/completion rates
- How to implement a survey using Qualtrics
- Advanced features of Qualtrics
Trainings will be held in the ITS Training Lab from 1:30-3 p.m. Oct. 19 and from 10-11:30 a.m. Nov. 9.
Student Data Deep Dive Training (DGT03)
This session will provide an explanation of university census and cohort processes while demonstrating a variety of student reports and dashboards online and in Business Objects.
Attendees can expect to leave with an understanding of:
- Census and cohort definitions/timelines
- State and federal governing guidelines
- Online census reports, i.e., degree-seeking trends, enrollment highlights and census class information
- Dashboards for reviewing daily enrollment activity and retention/graduation rates
- Business Objects reports including all plans, all enrolled headcounts and census class details
Training for this session will be held from 9:30-11 a.m. Oct. 23 in the Babbitt Administrative Center Boardroom 206 or by Skype.
