Dot Reidelbach, who earned praise as a documentary filmmaker after working at NAU for 14 years, died Oct. 21, 2009, in Sedona. She was 63.
Born Aug. 4, 1946, Ms. Reidelbach lived in Europe and throughout the United States as a child. She graduated from St. Francis University in Loretto, Pa., and became the bookstore manager and later operations director at Carnegie Mellon University.
She moved to Flagstaff in 1983 to become manager of the NAU Bookstore and later worked as director of University Reprographics until 1997 when she opened Satellite Printing Shop in Sedona.
After studying at Zaki-Gordon Film Institute in Sedona, Ms. Reidelbach directed Banking on Heaven, a 2006 documentary examining polygamous communities in Arizona, Utah and Texas.
Ms. Reidelbach is survived by two brothers, Thomas, of Flagstaff, and Frank, of Ebensburg, Pa.; a sister, Maria, of New York City; a niece, Erika Hough, of Pittsburgh; and a great-nephew, Ian Hough, also of Pittsburgh.
