Explore Egypt with one of its foremost experts, Egyptologist and NAU history professor Eugene Cruz-Uribe, during Legends and Myths of Egypt: An Insider’s Tour of the Land of Pharaohs, March 14-25.
“It’s a glorious chance to immerse yourself in legendary antiquity while sharing in the cutting-edge explorations of Dr. Cruz-Uribe’s current work as a Fulbright Scholar,” saidToni Fox, an alumni relations senior event coordinator. “The trip is a course in Egypt.”
Legends and Myths of Egypt is part of NAU’s Alumni Association’s 2007 Think, Again! program. It costs $3,750 a person, based on double occupancy, and is open to the public.
The trip is limited to 35 individuals, who will experience Cairo, the Pyramids, Luxor, the Valley of the Kings, Aswan, Abu Simbel, a Nile cruise and more. Register by Nov. 28.
“The course pace is highly active,” Fox said.
Fondly known as the “Egypt Guy,” Cruz-Uribe was awarded a Fulbright Scholar to teach ancient history in Egypt’s South Valley University for part of the 2006-07 academic year, during which time he will continue in his quest to record Egyptian script from historic sites dating back from 600 B.C. until A.D. 300.
