Convocations recognize outstanding students, celebrate diversity

The LEADS Center is encouraging faculty and staff to recognize students, staff or departments for their contributions to the NAU community by nominating individuals for awards to be presented at the annual convocation ceremonies.

Although nominations for Outstanding Hispanic Student Awards were due April 12, nominations are still being accepted for the Outstanding Native American Student Awards, due April 15, and the Outstanding Black Student Awards, due April 22.

The awards will be announced at Convocation Day events on May 12. The events will celebrate diversity at Northern Arizona University by honoring ethnic graduates in three separate ceremonies. The convocations combine award ceremonies with cultural rites. Family and friends are encouraged to attend, and receptions will follow all ceremonies:
