This week, the City of Flagstaff, Eagle Mountain Construction and the Arizona Department of Transportation will be installing new traffic signal poles at the intersection of Milton Road and University Drive. On Tuesday, Feb. 11, and Wednesday, Feb. 12, the intersection will be closed periodically with police officers assisting with traffic control.
University Drive also will be closed to all traffic between Milton Road and the west driveway entrance to Target. Drivers should follow marked signs throughout the duration of the construction.
The intersection’s traffic signals will not be activated during this time.
The traffic signal pole replacement is part of the city’s Beulah/University Realignment Project, a multiphase effort to develop stormwater infrastructure, a civilian underpass and a roundabout while improving intersections between South Beulah Boulevard and South Knoles Drive. This project is expected to be completed by summer.
