Construction on a new parking garage next to the NAU Bookstore will bring some much-needed parking spaces to the northeast part of campus in the fall. But in the meantime, the very limited parking nearby has prompted the bookstore to share some alternatives to help alleviate frustrations.
“Our recommendation is that students order their spring semester textbooks and supplies online and have them shipped directly to them,” said department manager Alysa Fisher.
As an incentive, the bookstore is offering free ground shipping through the month of February for online orders of $200 or more. Shipping typically costs about $7.50 for orders less than $200.
Fisher also encourages those who prefer to do their shopping in-person to park either off campus or in another lot on campus and either walk or take the transit system to the store.
About six general parking spaces and two disabled parking spaces are available at the bookstore for those displaying appropriate permits. While metered parking is no longer available at the store, campus visitors will find metered parking in P7, adjacent to the Wall Aquatic Center.
A map of campus parking is available online.
