homecoming collageNorthern Arizona University’s Homecoming Week is in full swing and the excitement continues to build as Homecoming’s biggest draws, the parade and football game, near.

Early risers are encouraged to start their weekend off the Lumberjack way with a hearty breakfast at Café au Louie or Flannels and Flapjacks before grabbing a spot to watch the downtown parade at 11 a.m.

The festivities continue with an afternoon of football fun. Head out to Lumberjack FanFest from noon to 4 p.m. and enjoy tailgating, food from the NAU Food Truck, an interactive fun zone and photo opportunities with Louie the Lumberjack.

Then get ready to make some noise as NAU Football hosts Big Sky opponent Idaho State in a “Think Pink” game at 4:05 p.m. in the Skydome. The game will be televised on NAU-TV, Fox Sports Arizona Plus and via live web stream.

A special halftime ceremony will feature the Homecoming Court as well as six members of the NAU family, Anthony “Tony” Agnello, Josh Aldred, Sam Borozan, Tom Bremser, Ralph Hopkins and Chris Petroff, who have earned awards from the NAU Alumni Association for their contributions to the communities in which they live. Read more about their accomplishments online.

After football wraps up, stay on campus as women’s volleyball plays North Dakota at 7:30 p.m. in Rolle Activity Center. Fans who present a ticket stub from the football game get into the volleyball match for free.

Tickets for all events are available online or by calling (928) 523-5661.

It will be a weekend to remember, so don your favorite blue and gold and support the Jacks.
