Benefits open enrollment under way

Maximizing Your Benefits recorded session available

Watch this online session to learn ways to get the most out of your health care plan for the least amount of money. Representatives from Blue Cross Blue Shield, Campus Health Services and others discuss cost-saving strategies to lower pharmacy expenses and outline free services available to members, such as the Health Management and Nurse-on-Call programs. Download the slides referenced in the video here.

The annual benefits open enrollment is under way, and NAU employees may make changes to current benefit selections for medical, dental, vision, short-term disability and life insurance. Any changes to benefits coverage must be made by 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 18., and will take effect Jan. 1.

No action is needed from employees who want to continue with current benefit selections. Employees wishing to continue health or dependent care flexible spending accounts must participate in open enrollment to maintain coverage for next year.

New employees who began working for the university on or after Sept. 14 may not participate in open enrollment due to the 90-day waiting period for benefits coverage to begin.

The university announced changes to its health care offerings in August due to budget constraints including increases in health care premiums and the shifting of vision care coverage to AVESIS. The announcement is available here.
