Hello, Lumberjack Country! On behalf of NAU Football, I’d like to extend greetings to our students, faculty and staff, alumni and the entire Flagstaff community. The school year is under way, and so is another year of Big Sky Conference football.
This year we aspire to new heights in the classroom and on the field. In particular, our team looks to build upon the achievements of last year’s 9-plus wins and once again make it back to the National Championship playoffs!
When you join us for our home opener, you might notice we have a different look. We’re starting the season with many new faces– 46 out of our 95 man roster will be wearing ‘blue and gold’ for the first time. We’re also sporting a new look. In April, NAU Athletics rolled out a new logo. The symbolic axe connects a century of students to the NAU experience. We believe our logo, like our team, reflects the strength, pride, determination and hard work of our Lumberjacks.
On Saturday, we’re asking for your support as we play our first game at home against New Mexico Highlands University. If you are able to be here, we need you. Every person plays a part in supporting our program and our players. Together, we are NAU. Together, we are #NAUStrong.
It’s a great time to be a Lumberjack. Come out and enjoy the start of fall, get loud and and help us defend the Dome. Go Jacks!
