Athletes post another semester with 3.0-plus GPA

Lumberjack athletes recorded a cumulative grade point average of 3.07 for the spring semester, marking the 12th semester out of the last 13 that student-athletes have recorded at least a 3.0 GPA.

“We are excited about the student-athletes’ continued academic success,” said Pam Lowie, interim assistant athletics director for Academics. “To have the whole department above a 3.00 cumulative grade point average is a testament to their ability to juggle academics and athletics.”

More than 300 student-athletes are coming off a fall semester in which they earned the highest cumulative grade point average since 1997, recording a 3.16 GPA.

“Once again our student-athletes show that they truly are students first,” said Athletics Director Jim Fallis. “I am proud of their commitment to the NAU philosophies of academics, athletics and service.”
