NAU’s vice president for Administration and Finance has resigned her position to join NAU’s business faculty and will transition into her new position beginning in mid-December.
Kathe Shinham, who joined NAU in March 2006, will teach in The W.A. Franke College of Business beginning in the spring. She also will prepare for her full-time teaching assignment, which will start in fall ’09. During the course of her teaching assignment, Shinham also will take on special assignments as needed by President John Haeger.
“I am excited to bring my work experience in public accounting and university management to the classroom in the Franke College of Business,” Shinham said. “Teaching is something I’ve wanted to do since getting my doctorate.”
Marc Chopin, dean of the college, said Shinham’s educational background and experience will bring a valued perspective to the college’s classrooms and students.
“I expect that she will enjoy her interactions with our students and being a member of the faculty,” Chopin said. “It is always a pleasure working with active and engaged faculty to enhance our educational opportunities. We look forward to Kathe joining our team.”
Haeger will discuss the next steps after meeting with Administration and Finance leadership on Friday.
