ADA committee seeks input on issues, awards

The University ADA Committee is seeking campus input on a variety of issues, including nominations for the University ADA Appreciation Awards.

The committee comprises individuals who have a special interest in promoting accessibility on the Mountain Campus, at distance learning sites and on the web.

Members are committed to the concept on Universal Design, which promotes the design of products and environments to be usable by all people, to the greatest extent possible, without the need for adaptation or specialized design.

The committee is seeking input from the NAU community regarding:

  • nominations for the University ADA Committee Appreciation Awards
  • accessibility issues in university programs, facilities and activities
  • suggestions, concerns and innovative ideas for making NAU more accessible
  • nominations of individuals interested in serving on the committee

Appreciation Award nomination forms are available online or by contacting the Office of Affirmative Action and Equal Opportunity at 523-3312. NAU faculty, staff or students and organizations or community members who have made outstanding contributions to the disability community at Northern Arizona University are eligible for the award. The nomination deadline has been extended to March 9.

If you have a suggestion or concern about accessibility, would like to attend a meeting, join the committee or find out more information about the committee’s work, contact committee member Betty Zanot, AA/ADA Specialist at 523-3312 or Betty.Zanot@nau.edu.
