Let Inside NAU take you back in time with tidbits of university history.
History lesson: Checking up on Fronske facts
Martin Fronske is pictured examining students who were attending the campus Training School for teachers in 1951.
Fronske, a Flagstaff physician, first began lending his healing hands to campus in 1914. He not only treated more than 300 students during a major flu epidemic, he spent many years as a physician for university athletic teams, accompanying them to most of their out-of-town games. In 1979, NAU named the Fronske Health Center in his honor. Born in 1883, Fronske lived to enjoy the tribute. He died in 1984.
