  • Mitch Strohman and Theresa Bierer in Studio BNAU-TV recently unveiled its new Studio B television set, pictured at right, where Mitch Strohman and Theresa Bierer have already begun shooting new footage for programs like Inside NAU and The Score, among others. The set was designed to be flexible in its look, so the NAU logo skins can be removed and replaced with different backgrounds for client productions.Watch NAU-TV live online, on cable channels 4 and 59 in Flagstaff and on Fox College Sports or Fox Sports Arizona.
  • Laura L. Camden, assistant professor of photojournalism and documentary studies in the School of Communication, presented “Lights Still On: The First and Last of Montana’s Drive-in Movie Theatres” at the 10th annual Hawaii International Conference on Arts and Humanities last week in Honolulu.
  • Karen McCoy, librarian at Cline Library, recently published the article, “What Teens are Really Reading: A Librarian’s Informal Survey Uncovers the Hottest YA Fiction,” in the School Library Journal.McCoy targeted four online discussion groups to gather data for the article in which she uncovered some of the most popular current and classic young adult titles. The article is available here.
  • Northern Arizona University’s NAUTeach is one of five UTeach programs across the country to share a $500,000 contribution from AT&T. The gift was announced this week by the National Math and Science Initiative, an organization that promotes the development of best-practices educational programs. Other UTeach programs benefiting from the gift are at the University of California, Berkeley, the University of California, Irvine, the University of Florida and Florida State University.
