The Partnership for Native American Cancer Prevention, a collaboration with University of Arizona researchers that is funded by the National Cancer Institute, serves two purposes: To research and decrease the rates among Native American populations, which are higher than other demographic groups, and to encourage Native students to become cancer researchers themselves.
“Our entire mission is to alleviate the unequal cancer burden on Indigenous communities in the Southwest,” said program coordinator Sheena Hale.
