- Bill Wiist, retired senior scientist in the Interdisciplinary Health Policy Institute and professor of health sciences, had his article titled, “The Role of Public Health in the Prevention of War: Rationale and Competencies,” published in the June issues of American Journal of Public Health and Medicine, Conflict and Survival.
- NAU’s Office of Public Affairs received a 2014 Apex Award of Excellence for its printed newspaper tabloid that helped launch the university’s $100 million comprehensive fundraising campaign in October 2013. Communications Concepts recognized the publication as one of seven “exceptional entries” in the annual contest’s Special Purpose Print Media category. Pilkington Advertising Design in Flagstaff designed the publication. APEX Awards are based on “excellence in graphic design, editorial content and the ability to achieve overall communications effectiveness and excellence.” Information about the APEX Awards is available online.
