Northern Arizona University has been awarded a $6,000 VetCenter Initiative grant to help expand the Military and Veteran Student Center on campus.
The center, which will increase by 1,000 square feet, will include a new computer lab and study room and provide enhancements to the existing recreation and resource areas.
“NAU is a major contributor to Arizona’s veteran success,” said Andrew Griffin, director of NAU’s Office of Military and Veteran Affairs. “The expanded center will ensure our student veterans have ample resources available and the support they need to achieve their goals on and off campus.”
The center, which is currently housed in the School of Hotel and Restaurant Management, is expected to return to its permanent location in the Union Fieldhouse in August.
NAU is among 11 institutions selected to receive funds from the Student Veterans of America and The Home Depot Foundation partnership.
