Northern Arizona University’s Martin-Springer Institute, which honors Holocaust victims and combats intolerance and hatred worldwide, is looking for nominations for its annual Moral Courage Awards.
Deserving nominees should be Arizona residents who have exhibited moral courage in their everyday lives. Examples of moral courage include exposing the perpetrator of a hate crime, protecting classmates from ridicule, befriending those who are ostracized or consistently taking a stand against speech or actions intended to exclude others.
The deadline for the nominations is March 26.
Individuals chosen as demonstrating moral courage will be honored on April 26 at an award ceremony located on NAU’s Mountain Campus. Winners will receive prizes and certificates. Arizona Attorney General Terry Goddard will speak at the ceremony.
