The 50 fall graduates from NAU’s School of Nursing had a healthy 96 percent pass rate on their National Council Licensure Examination.
Since 2002, NAU’s scores have risen by more than 10 percent. The average national pass rate was 87 percent. The average Arizona pass rate also was 87 percent.
Ilene Decker, director of nursing, attributes the high score to the overall quality of the program.
“We have quality students, faculty and curriculum,” Decker said. “Because of their high grades and the nursing shortage throughout Arizona, these graduates have an excellent outlook for getting employment right way.”
