- Richard Quartaroli, the special collections librarian emeritus NAU, recently received two awards. In November, Flagstaff-based Grand Canyon Youth presented him with their Confluence Award for “making history relevant and important” through his contributions to Grand Canyon and Colorado River history. This month, he received the Grand Canyon Pioneer Award from the Grand Canyon Historical Society for making a significant contribution to the understanding of and knowledge about the Grand Canyon of the Colorado River, in particular for compiling and editing the forthcoming proceedings of the 2012 Grand Canyon History Symposium, A Rendezvous of Grand Canyon Historians.
- Karen Pedersen, associate vice president for Extended Campuses, and Terri Hayes, executive director of enrollment management for Extended Campuses, participated in the Conference on Adult Learner Enrollment Management in Boston in July. The three-day conference focused on mastering tomorrow’s enrollment outcomes. Hayes served on a panel discussion and presented “Actionable Data in the Adult Market—Where to Begin?”, while Pedersen presented “Orchestrating an Enrollment Management Transformation.”
