Total compensation statements are being sent through interoffice mail to all benefit-eligible faculty and staff this week.
The statements provide a summary of the dollar value for the various forms of compensation employees receive based on current salary and benefit selections.
“Careful budgeting techniques at all levels of the university have resulted in additional compensation funding above what is approved by the state Legislature,” NAU President John Haeger says in a letter accompanying the statements. “As a result, our compensation plans have begun to make noticeable strides in our long-term effort to be competitive with the salary and benefit plans.”
Despite increases in health benefit costs, NAU will continue to pay more than 90 percent of health insurance premiums this year. The employee portion remains as low as possible to minimize the impact on employees’ net pay.
“I will continue my personal commitment to seek funding for sustained improvements in our employee compensation and benefits programs,” Haeger says.
Previous statements back to 2003 can be accessed through LOUIE Online.
