Northern Arizona University’s master’s in business administration is listed among the most outstanding business programs in the nation in the Princeton Review’s 2010 edition of its book, The Best 301 Business Schools.
This marks the fifth consecutive year that NAU has been featured in the publication.
Editors chose the 301 featured business schools based on the schools’ academic programs and offerings, institutional data and the candid opinions of more than 19,000 students who rated and reported on their campus experiences for the publication’s annual survey.

NAU students report that the MBA program is “intense and fun at the same time,” leaving them “better prepared and more knowledgeable in regards to the major business functions, such as marketing, management, finance and accounting.”
Professors “offer challenging work, but they are always available for further instruction beyond classroom hours.” One student writes, “Our professors strive to enrich students’ professional and business skills to prepare them for success in the workforce. Professors are welcoming and know students on a first-name basis, which makes communication easier and more fluid.” Administrators are “helpful and resourceful when meeting student needs.”
Jane Thompson, director of NAU’s MBA program, says its small size “allows each student to receive substantial individual attention from faculty and staff, making their NAU experience rewarding and enjoyable.”
Students also cite the “wonderful” new building that “offers all the students a great place to study,” and includes plenty of open space, designed to encourage students to linger after class in order to break off into study groups or simply to hang out and socialize. Thompson agrees, saying the new building’s features help foster interaction among students and faculty, enhancing the overall learning experience.
The Best 301 Business Schools includes two-page profiles of the featured schools with information on their academics, career placement services, student life and admissions.
