Kander and Ebb
James Leve, associate professor in the School of Music, published Kander and Ebb, the first study of the longest composer-lyricist team on Broadway. It includes chapters on John Kander and Fred Ebb’s most famous musicals, Cabaret, Chicago and Kiss of the Spider Woman. This book is the sixth volume in the Yale Broadway Masters Series. Leve is currently writing a musical theater textbook for Oxford University Press. _________________________________________________________________

Designing the User Interface
Steven Jacobs, an adjunct faculty member in computer science, co-authored the course textbook, Designing the User Interface. The book features novel technologies and powerful interfaces for the next generation of users who apply social media and social networking in ways that enrich their lives and transform our society. Jacobs collaborated on the book with Ben Shneiderman from the University of Maryland, Catherine Plaisant from the University of Maryland and Maxine Cohen from Nova Southeastern University. Jacobs will sign books at the Computer Human Interaction 2009 conference this April in Boston. Fifth Edition Publishing.

Marianne O. Nielsen, a professor of criminology and criminal justice, along with co-author Robert A. Silverman, recently published Criminal Justice in Native America, published by the University of Arizona Press. NAU Bookstore signings and events
Lisa Schnebly Heidinger will sign copies of her books from noon to 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 12. Schnebly Heidinger, a native Arizonan and great-granddaughter of Arizona pioneer Sedona Schnebly, has authored numerous books about Arizona, including Chief Yellowhorse Lives on: And Other Stories of Arizona Places and People, Tucson: The Old Pueblo and Sedona. ______________________________________________________________________________________
The NAU Bookstore is hosting an Artists’ Show and Tell from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 11. Various artists will display and sell their works, including photography students and photography associate professor Sam Minkler, Frances Riemer, director of Women and Gender Studies, members from the NAU Clay Club and representatives from the Artists Coalition of Flagstaff.
