Northern Arizona University broke its spring enrollment record with 21,413 students in Flagstaff and at sites throughout Arizona.
The total is 5.9 percent more than the spring 2008 total of 20,224.
NAU’s total spring 2009 enrollment on the Flagstaff campus is 13,752, compared to 12,859 in spring 2008. Online enrollment is 2,542, compared to last year’s 2,339, and statewide enrollment is at 4,493, compared to 4,418.
Arizona residents increased to 17,046, nearly 5 percent, over last spring, and the out-of-state student population grew nearly 11 percent to 4,367.
“Students continue to find Northern Arizona University to be a place where you can get a high-quality education at an affordable price,” said NAU President John Haeger. “The faculty and staff work diligently to make sure all students have a positive, productive experience.”
The spring enrollment record follows a record student population for fall 2008 of 22,507. Enrollment generally declines from fall to spring.
