sustainability tip of the week

Did you know?
A single commuter switching his or her commute to public transportation can reduce a household’s carbon emissions by 10 percent and up to 30 percent if he or she eliminates a second car. When compared to other household actions that limit CO2, taking public transportation can be 10 times more effective in reducing this harmful greenhouse gas.

And NAU makes it easy to ride…
All NAU faculty and staff are eligible to receive a free Mountain Line city bus pass good through June 2010. Passes are put on your NAU ID and can be picked up at Parking Services (Centennial Building) or the Office of Sustainability (ARD Suite 120).

Riding rather than driving allows you to…

  • Spend some time to yourself at the beginning and end of your
workday to read, check e-mail, listen to music or sit back and relax
  • Meet new people in your community
  • Reduce traffic both on and off campus
