- The NAU-Yuma social work program recently reached the $1 million mark for in-kind service learning and community engaged projects for Yuma and Imperial counties. The announcement was made at the 2017 BASW Community Potluck. Also acknowledged were Field Instructors of the Year, the Outstanding Social Work Student, Alex Galvan, and the Outstanding Social Work Senior, Grace Ricablanca. The NAU Yuma Social Work Program has been providing 16 years of social work education to Yuma and Imperial counties.
Phoenix Suns Charities awarded Central High School senior Esmeralda Regino with a full-tuition, four-year scholarship to attend NAU next fall. NAU President Rita Cheng was part of a group to surprise Regino Monday with news of the scholarship. The board selected Regino for her outstanding academic record, extracurricular activities and desire to serve as a leader in the community. She is a first-generation college student.
