  • Senior physics major Etude O’Neel-Judy, a Goldwater scholar, won an award for the best theory talk at an undergraduate research symposium at Rice University. He was invited to speak at Rice as part of their graduate school recruitment process.
  • Nine NAU students were chosen for the Spring 2018 Legislative Internship Program.
    • Governor’s Office: Kayla Horton (the first time an NAU student was appointed this internship since 2014)
    • State Senate: Molly Graver and Mykelin Myers (Research Staff)
    • House of Representatives: Adrienne Austill (Research Staff), Alanna Bendel (Majority Leadership), Elizabeth Lange (Research Staff), Samuel Rosenberg (Research Staff) and Ashley Sergent (Democrat Staff)

    • Arizona Capitol Television: Kaylee Adams
  • Junior Monique King picked up her first career WAC Swimmer of the Week award from the conference office on Tuesday following her performance at last week’s Texas Invitational. She is the first NAU swimmer to be honored this season. King also set a new season-best in the 200-meter freestyle at 1:51.54 in addition to swimming on the Lumberjacks’ 400 and 800-meter freestyle relays. Both relays recorded season-best times as well.
