  • Northern Arizona University’s School of Hotel and Restaurant Management was recently ranked No. 12 in the nation for their hospitality degree program by thebestschools.org. Hospitality schools throughout the United States were evaluated based on the quality of the program, types of courses provided, faculty strength, the quality of business education, internship opportunities, graduate degrees, mentoring opportunities, study abroad opportunities, career fairs and reputation.

  • NAU film professor Kurt Lancaster recently published a book entitled Production House Cinema: Starting and Running Your Own Cinematic Storytelling Business. It offers students and professionals a practical guide to starting their own video production company and creating cinematic, client-based video content. The book is available for purchase online.

  • Faculty members Melissa Birkett, Psychological Sciences, Judith MontoyaGeography, Planning & Recreation, JeanAnn Foley, Curriculum & Instruction, Ryan Kashanipour, History, Ricardo Guthrie, Ethnic Studies, T. Mark Montoya, Ethnic Studies, Carissa Tsosie, Library, Robert Neustadt, Global Langauges & Cultures and Laura Sujo-Montes, Educational Technology, all contributed individual chapters to Going Inward: The Role of Cultural Introspection in College Teaching. The book introduces readers to cultural self-reflection as a powerful tool for insight into how our values and beliefs influence our teaching.
