  • Donelle Ruwe, professor of literature in the English department, delivered the plenary presentation at the 25th Anniversary Conference of the British Women Writers Association in June. “25 Years and 486 Women Writers” discussed various women authors from the 18th and 19th centuries who have been recovered through the efforts of the association. Ruwe and her co-presenter, Roxanne Eberle from the University of Georgia, also provided a comparative study of other scholarly literature conferences to reveal the gendered dynamics of academia today and to argue for the essential nature of a scholarly conference dedicated to women writers.
  • Northern Arizona University’s online nursing program was ranked No. 18 by Best Degree Programs for 30 Best Online Bachelor’s in Nursing 2017. Rankings are based on affordability and previous program rankings from major publications.
  • Northern Arizona University has made the American Indian Science and Engineering Society’s Winds of Change Magazine’s Top 200 Special College Issue for 2017. This highly anticipated magazine is referenced by students, counselors and college recruiters as the only resource of its kind for Native Americans, Alaska Natives and Native Hawaiians who are concentrating on a STEM discipline in higher education.
  • Informatica published a story discussing how Northern Arizona University uses education customer relationship management to establish a deeper connection with students and improve their experiences at the university.
