  • Chad Trujillo, assistant professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy, is mentioned in IEEE Spectrum’s cover story “Is There a Giant Planet Lurking Beyond Pluto?” Trujillo has contributed to the ongoing search for the true ninth planet in the solar system.
  • Suzanne Pieper of the Office of Curriculum, Learning Design, and Academic Assessment, Galen Collins and Allen Reich of the School of Hotel and Restaurant Management, and Agnes DeFranco from the University of Houston presented their paper, “Creating an Effective Assessment of Learning Outcomes Process for Hospitality Programs,” at the annual International Council of Hotel, Restaurant and Institutional Educators conference in July. The article provides an overview of the justifications for implementing an assessment of learning outcomes process and the steps that were developed by NAU’s HRM program.
  • Flagstaff was ranked No. 3 in EAB’s list of The 10 Best College Towns in the U.S. NAU’s hometown landed in the top three cities for its “laid back” culture and variety of options for dining, bars and entertainment.
