The Arizona Cardinals training camp at Northern Arizona University is the NFL’s second best training camp, according to Sports Illustrated’s Peter King.
King shared his favorite training camp sites in his weekly column on Monday, pointing to the close proximity to the players and the scenic views in Flagstaff as reasons why NAU’s is one of the best.
“About 15 feet from fans on the sidelines, Larry Fitzgerald was tiptoeing and catching sideline balls on Thursday. No fence. No rope. Just trust that fans will respect the lines,” he wrote. “If you love majestic pine trees, cool afternoons and the San Francisco Peaks range of mountains overlooking the field, you need to visit this underrated spot.”
There is still plenty of time to catch a Cardinals practice session, with public sessions held on campus through Aug. 21. A full practice schedule is available online.
