As road construction on the eastbound and westbound Interstate 40 bridges continues, the Arizona Department of Transportation will close Beulah Boulevard overnight next week to allow crews to construct the false work needed to support the bridges during upcoming construction.
The southbound lanes will be closed from 8:30 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday and 10:30 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday. Vehicular and pedestrian traffic will be detoured, with drivers going north to Forest Avenue, east to Interstate 17 and south onto southbound I-17 to the J.W. Powell/I-17 interchange, then north on Beulah Boulevard.
The northbound lanes will be closed from 10:30 p.m. Tuesday to 5 a.m. Wednesday and 10:30 p.m. Wednesday to 5 a.m. Thursday. Drivers and pedestrians will be detoured, with drivers going south to the J.W. Powell/I-17 interchange and north on I-17 to Forest Avenue, then west to Beulah Boulevard.
