Obituary: Joshua Sawtelle, business student

Joshua Brent Sawtelle, a student in the W.A. Franke College of Business, died Feb. 27, 2015. He was 23.

Mr. Sawtelle grew up attending the New Testament Baptist Church in Tucson. He worked as an usher during church services and helped with the preschool children on Sunday evenings.

Mr. Sawtelle received his associate’s degree in business from Pima Community College and was pursuing a business degree at Northern Arizona University. Mr. Sawtelle was working as an assistant manager of produce at Safeway in Flagstaff.

Mr. Sawtelle was known as a good and faithful friend, a hard worker and a young man with a persistent positive outlook on life. He loved the outdoors and was an avid skier, hiker and disc golf participant. He was good with computers and had built a tower computer from scratch. He loved living in Flagstaff and enjoyed regularly using his season pass at Arizona Snowbowl.

Mr. Sawtelle is survived by his father Craig; mother Karin; sister Rebecca; and brother Daniel. A memorial service will be held in Tucson at the New Testament Baptist Church, 2855 N. Craycroft Rd., at noon Saturday, March 21.
