NAU to graduate 2,500 during spring ceremonies in Flagstaff, Yuma

Nearly 2,500 NAU students will become alumni during 2007 commencement ceremonies May 11 and 12 in the Skydome.

Students from the College of Engineering and Natural Sciences and the College of Arts and Letter will be honored beginning at 10 a.m. May 11. The College of Social and Behavioral Sciences begins its ceremony at 2 p.m. May 11.

The ceremony for the College of Business Administration and Consortium of Professional Schools will begin at 10 a.m. May 12. The consortium includes Forestry, Nursing, Health Professions and Hotel and Restaurant Management.

The College of Education ceremony will begin at 2 p.m. May 12.

Four supporters of education and NAU will receive honorary doctoral degrees and be speaking during the ceremonies.

Best-selling author and NAU graduate Diana Gabaldon will speak at 10 a.m. May 11. Flagstaff Mayor Joe Donaldson will speak at 2 p.m. May 11. Shirley Agnos, president emeritus of Arizona Town Hall will be honored at 10 a.m. May 12, and Kristin Bourguet, the 2007 Arizona Teacher of the Year, will address graduates at 2 p.m. May 12.

Vicki L. Ardisana, an educator in the Yuma area for 20 years and current faculty member at NAU-Yuma, will address graduates at the NAU-Yuma ceremony beginning at 8 p.m. May 18 during a joint celebration with Arizona Western College.

NAU-Yuma will graduate 172 baccalaureate candidates, six master’s degree candidates and two doctoral candidates.
