    Liz Grobsmith, seated in front row, second from right, attended the 2012 Indo-Global Education Summit and Expo held in Hyderabad, India, Sept. 6-14. The trip is part of an effort to help India open its doors to higher education abroad and to foster interest in collaboration and exchange among faculty and students. Grobsmith, senior adviser to the President for Strategic and International Initiatives, participated in three different panels, met with numerous potential educational partners and visited schools both in Hyderabad and Bangalore. She is pictured here during the delegation’s visit to a private Catholic school, Jyoti Nivas College Autonomous.

  • Paul Keim, Regents’ professor and director of NAU’s Center for Microbial Genetics and Genomics, was named Bioscience Researcher of the Year by the Arizona Bioindustry Association, AZBio. Keim was nominated by members of the Arizona bioscience community and selected by an independent, statewide panel of leaders for this recognition of his research and innovation in the field of pathogen genomics and microbiology. The award will be presented at the annual AZBio Awards Dinner on Oct. 23 at the Phoenix Convention Center
